Girl Scouting is a world wide movement started in 1912. At that time, as today,
the goal of Girl Scouting is to assist girls reach their full potential. Girl Scouting in Our Lady of Grace Parish comes under the direction of the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York.
The mission of the Council: The Girl Scout Council of Greater New York is a voluntary organization which offers the Girl Scout Program to all girls in the five boroughs of New York City to help
them grow into capable and responsible women who respect themselves and others.
Girl Scouting can be a success track for all girls. At each level, a girl enjoys activities specially designed to appeal to her interests and to meet her unique needs as a girl growing up in today's society.
The ethics and values expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law are the foundation of the program, giving activities added meaning.
There are five age levels in Girl Scouting: Daisy (Kindergarten), Brownie (Grades 1-3), Junior (Grades 4-6), Cadette (Grade 7-9) and Senior (Grades 9-12). At present we offer
Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes in the parish.
